Description
Located in Catalonia, Spain, this paragliding site offers a takeoff altitude of 759 meters and a height difference of 331 meters. It is frequently used and known for its excellent soaring conditions, making it a good spot for cross-country (XC) flights. The site record is 41.6 km.
Access and Location:
If you're coming from Montblanc, pass the Coll and after the restaurant "Les Espelmes," take the asphalted track on the left after about 500 meters at a right turn. If you're coming from Valls, 1 km before reaching Coll de Lilla, take the asphalted track on the right at a gentle left turn where there is a clearing on the left. Continue on the main track until you reach the buildings of Miramar. From there, take the dirt track on the right (300m) and then a cemented path (on the right) for 2 km to reach the Telefónica antennas. There is a small takeoff area at the base of the antennas.
Qualities:
This site allows flights with N-NW winds during autumn, winter, and spring. The confluence of north and south winds can lift you more than 1,000 meters above the takeoff point.
Precautions:
If the front is active, expect an increase in wind intensity. Stay alert and fly in front of the slope. There is a small power line to the right of the takeoff area, which should be crossed with sufficient altitude. Do not take off with winds exceeding 25 km/h. Avoid flying directly above the slope in strong winds.
