Best Conditions
Description
The paragliding site at Großheubach, Germany, has a height of 295 meters and a height difference of 170 meters. It is regularly used for thermal and soaring flights, with some potential for cross-country flying.
The site is managed by Lilienthal-Gleiter-Unterfranken e.V. More information can be found on their website: [Lilienthal-Gleiter-Unterfranken e.V.](https://fly-mil.de/).
Guest pilots are limited to a maximum of 5 per day and must register on the website. The access road to the launch site (Grillplatz) is restricted to vehicles registered with the club, which must be moved back to the barrier immediately after unloading. Paragliders must reach the launch site on foot.
Important notes:
- Dangerous turbulence can occur at the launch site with southwest winds.
- Emergency landing fields are to be used only in emergencies.
- The launch conditions at Busigberg are quite challenging, requiring pilots to be proficient in reverse launching techniques.
Guest pilots must register and can only fly if a club member is present. The fee for a day membership is €5. Private vehicles can drive up to the barrier, followed by a 300-meter walk. Only registered club vehicles can drive directly to the launch site.
Best launch conditions are with winds from SSE to S. The setup area is large and flat, with strong thermals often present in spring.
