Description

Börry, Germany Elevation: 182 meters Height Difference: 80 meters Difficulty: Easy This site is frequently used and offers excellent soaring conditions. Cross-country flights are possible. Top landing is also an option. Access to the take-off point is on foot from Börry. Region: Börry, Germany Watch flights near this location: [YouTube Video](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MspEUVjaAWE) [Vimeo Video](http://vimeo.com/19750800) More details: [Drachenfluggruppe Börry](https://www.drachenfluggruppe-boerry.de/gelaende/boerry.html) Every pilot must register via the contact form on the day of the flight. Starting in the Börry flying area is only allowed with an operational radio. We use LPD channel 24 (433.650 MHz with CTCSS frequency 77.0 Hz, Midland channel 4). Before take-off, each pilot must announce their start via radio. The start order is determined by the radio sequence. If there are already pilots in the air, one of them will grant the start clearance. If there are already hang gliders and three paragliders in the air, a hang glider pilot must grant the start clearance. If flying conditions worsen, any pilot can insist on limiting the number of paragliders in the air to a minimum of three. Driving to the take-off site is only allowed for members of the DFG Börry. Guests must park in the designated area shown in the photo. Note: The Börry take-off site is approximately 1.7 km WSW from the ED-R 24 Grohnde restricted airspace. The soaring ridge is about 400 meters long. Thermals improve the flying conditions. Parking at the take-off site is only allowed with a permit. A maximum of seven cars are allowed on the site. The permit is also required for transporting hang gliders. Immediately after take-off, make a left turn to avoid late visibility of low-flying pilots due to the protruding forest, preventing frontal collisions. For more information: Drachenfluggruppe Börry Weserbergland e.V. [DFG Börry](http://www.drachenfluggruppe-boerry.de/) Contact: Siegfried Ritterbusch Tel.: +49 (0)5533/93242 Guest flying rules: No guest flying on weekends and holidays in Börry due to past mid-air collisions and complaints from club members about overcrowding during south wind conditions. Exceptions can be made by the duty start leader, who will decide on a case-by-case basis. The phone numbers of the start leaders are available on the DFG Börry website. During the week, the site remains open to guests. Club members have priority under the three-pilot rule. Attention: Restricted airspace E-DR24 - Radius 1.483 km around the Grohnde nuclear power plant (located 3.4 km WSW from the take-off site), altitude 671 meters.
