Takeoff: Park your car at the arrival point of 'La Barillette'. Walk 10 minutes downhill to find the takeoff, which is not easily located. Refer to the plan provided on the club's website.
[La Barillette or Les Burnes Gelées](http://www.cvld.ch/pages/sites-de-vol/sites-du-club/la-barillette-ou-les-burnes-gelees.html)
Situation: Steep slope in a forest trench
Flyable: From South-East to South
Unflyable: South-West, West, North-West, North, North-East
Caution: Avoid lingering on the first plateau; seek thermals at the second break.
Respect: Adhere strictly to the Geneva TMA airspace regulations. The biotope protection zone prohibits overflying below 150 meters above ground level.
Access: Take the road to La Barillette, park at the summit, then descend into the forest. The takeoff is very difficult to find if you are unfamiliar with the area, so contact local pilots for guidance. The road is closed from the first snowfall until May 15.
Cross-Country Routes:
- South-East towards Le Reculet and back, with the main challenge being the transition above Gex.
- North-East is more difficult but achievable under good conditions. Check the DABS for overflying the Bière plain.
Wind Conditions: Suitable for winds from the East and South-East, with a maximum of 15-20 km/h. Check the wind conditions using the 'MétéoSuisse' wind balise at 'La Dôle':
