Conditions Optimales
Description
This paragliding site in the UK offers a unique experience where you can soar alongside kites, buzzards, falcons, and hawks. The site is occasionally used and is known for its local soaring conditions. The launch area is small, and you need to be cautious while laying out your wing due to small exposed roots that can snag your lines during take-off. The soaring area is limited but can be very thermic.
Top landing is restricted, and slope landing is challenging due to cables at the base of the hill. Bottom landing requires careful approach.
To reach the site, park at Cowleaze Wood (SU 726 957). From the car park, turn right and walk 20 yards, then turn left up the track. After about 40 yards, turn left across the field, then turn right and follow the ridge until you reach a bench. The take-off area is to the left of the trees. Please be mindful not to damage any fences.
We have a verbal agreement to test this site for suitability, and although it is seldom used, there have been no issues with English Nature. As always, treat the site with respect.
