Paragliding Arhus Hotel Marselis
Best Conditions
Optimal Wind Direction
Optimal Speed (kmh)
Description
This paragliding site in Denmark is known for its medium to difficult flying conditions. The height ranges from 12 to 25 meters, with a length of 5000 meters. It is a regularly used spot but requires extreme caution due to its sensitivity. Only expert pilots should attempt to fly here, and it is highly recommended to contact local pilots for guidance before flying.
The site record is 4.1 km. Access to the site is from Hotel Marselis. The slopes are approximately 30 meters high, and you can fly down to Moesgård. The starting point is the downward slope in front of the hotel, which is challenging and should only be attempted by experienced pilots. Landing can be done at the beach.
To get there from Aarhus C, drive along the beach road towards Marselisborg, continue to Moesgård, and park at Hotel Marselis. The takeoff is difficult due to the hotel, bushes, and flat, low terrain. This spot is really just for experienced coastal pilots. There have been issues with pilots landing on the hotel roof, which has caused tension with the hotel owner.
Once you manage the entry, it is often possible to gain considerable height over the forest. If you are visiting for the first time and do not meet a local Danish pilot for entry-level information, it is best to stay on the ground to preserve the spot.
Respect the bathing tourists and guests, and do not disturb them.
