This site is occasionally used for paragliding, with thermalling and cross-country (XC) flights possible. It is unregulated, so pilots with an H3 rating or H2 rating with an instructor are recommended.
The site faces south to southwest and is known for its long retrieves. You may need to hike up to the launch or back up to retrieve your vehicle.
Acceptable flying conditions include south to southwest winds ranging from 0 to 15 km/h. For thermalling, light and variable south to southwest winds are ideal. For soaring, south to southwest winds between 9 to 14 km/h are preferred.
There are a few trees on the slope around the launch area, so be cautious. The landing zone consists of wide-open clearings in the desert with no obstacles.
Parking is available by the radio towers at coordinates 43°48'39.65"N, 120°52'26.75"W.
