Located in the Zugspitz region, this paragliding site offers a beautiful and relatively unknown flying area. It is family-friendly and features multiple launch options. The site is relatively easy to access but has limited cross-country potential.
The optimal time to start for thermal flying is usually before the valley wind reaches the launch site, around 11 AM or earlier. Later in the afternoon, the valley wind typically becomes strong enough to allow for soaring directly in front of the launch site and the summit.
To reach the launch site at Almkopf, take the 8-seater cable car up to Hochalm at 1620 meters. From there, it's about a 20-minute walk to the launch site and the summit of Almkopf.
