Description
At an elevation of 532 meters, this paragliding site in Spain is frequently used for thermal soaring near the coast and is also suitable for wintertime flights. Some cross-country (XC) flying is possible. Top landing is an option, either at the beach or on designated landing areas.
If you start from the lower launch sites, you can usually gain altitude in the laminar ridge lift to reach the higher launch sites. From there, you can often continue your flight with thermal support.
The launch area consists of gently sloping grassy hills without obstacles. The recommended wind directions for takeoff are from the southeast to southwest. Avoid flying in winds from the east or northwest.
The designated landing area for paragliders is on the beach directly south of the launch sites. Hang gliders should land further west on Velilla Beach.
The altitude difference between the launch and landing sites is 600 meters.
