Description
Located in the Souss-Massa-Draâ region of Morocco, this paragliding site offers a unique experience with a height of 86 meters and a length of 7,000 meters. It is a popular spot for soaring, with frequent visitors enjoying the favorable conditions. Top landing is generally straightforward.
The landing area ranges from sea level on the beach to 100 meters. You can land anywhere along the coast, but be cautious of the tides when landing on the beach.
To get there, start from Tisnit and follow the signs to Aglou Plage. Just before reaching Aglou Plage, turn right and follow the track, which is located just before the camping area.
The site features a very large beach with small sand hills, creating a picturesque and serene environment. However, it is important to note that this area is a bird protection zone, and paragliding is officially prohibited year-round, although it is tolerated. Please respect the regulations and behave accordingly.
For accommodation, Hotel Aglou Beach offers good food, decent rooms at reasonable prices, and even WiFi.
Aglou Plage is situated 100 km south of Agadir and northwest of Tiznit. It is an isolated soaring spot with 3.5 km of cliffs ranging from 20 to 80 meters high. Flights are possible even with a light breeze. This location is ideal for paragliders who prefer less crowded sites compared to nearby spots like Nid d'Aigle and Legzira.
Local paragliders are known for their skill in ground handling and soaring, often launching even in challenging conditions. Below the takeoff area, there is a cave-inn where you can enjoy refreshments, a fish tagine, or simply relax to the sound of the waves.
For those interested in thermalling, head to the small mountain east of Aglou, about 1 km from the coast with a 200-meter elevation gain. Thermals here can take you along the ridges towards the south, with the possibility of reaching Nid d'Aigle, 14 km away.
