Infos: Somo, and the Cantabria region in general, is a beautiful wave spot. In case of lack of wind, you can rent a surfboard and still have a lot of fun. The tide is very present. Beside the fact that there are waves, which can bother the beginners, it is an easy spot, for about any level.

Infos: The sandy beach is beautiful and enormous. The kiters usually collect on the left side of the beach. Central part is for swimmers and right part of the beach for surfers. There is plenty of space for anybody.

Weather specificities: The water is quite warm in summer: at worse you will use a shorty. Colder during winter, wetsuit needed.

Wind specificities: In summertime it mostly works with thermal wind: it usually starts blowing at 2-4 pm from NE. In case of bad weather you can have wind from NW.

Access description: by Car - Not far from Santander (Cantabria), about 30 min drive. Just across the bay to the east. Find a map and follow it until you get to Somo. The beach is one, and huge, impossible to miss.

Extra: Apparently no restrictions. Kiters should stay on the left part of the beach and you won't bother anybody.
Nightlife: No nightlife in Somo! The city of Santander is just about 30 minutes away by car and offers great night life and food in the city center.
