Beach type & size: Sand - Big Infos: At low tide it is a little muddy, but there is a lot of space to launch. At high tide, it is better to launch south of the Old Pier. Identified hazards: None Weather specificities: Can be chilly all year long. Best conditions in June (warm weather and strong winds). Water is warmer than in the open ocean. Wind specificities: Wind is generally weaker than in the open ocean but can blow 20+ knots. Usual direction is north, which is sideshore. June can be foggy with not much wind. Great from mid July on. Best months: July, August, September Access description: by Car - 5 hours drive south from Los Angeles (2 hours south of Ensenada, Baja Mexico). On eastern shore of inner San Quintin Bay, 4 miles west of Hwy.1, via dirt road. Motel on site of old grist mill. Specific rules: None Extra: A cheap motel is a great place to stay.
