Access description: by Car, Train - Take the Belt Pkwy east to Sunrise Hwy. Follow Sunrise Hwy to Long Beach Rd., Rockville Centre. Make a right heading south on Long Beach Rd. Take it all the way to the beach (about 10 miles). LIRR from Penn Station

Extra: Absolutely no kiting in Long Beach from June to September, life guard rules. Local kiters only kite outside of Beach Park times, which are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the summer season. This is NOT a beginners spot. Experienced kites only should venture to Long Beach. The locals take this spot very seriously and will inform you of the rules/regulations if you clearly are not an experienced kiter. You must follow local rules or you will be fined from the Long Beach Police Dept. Rules are taken very seriously here. There have been a few kite accidents here from non-seasoned kiters, so please keep clear of Long Beach unless you can handle big waves, current, rocks and buildings.
