Infos: The reef is about 1km offshore so inside the water is generally flat to slight chop, outside the reef you have the swell of the Indian Ocean to play with. The lagoon out to the reef can be shallow in places at low tide, has the flattest water but watch out for the sea-urchins underfoot. Mid to high tide is fine.

Wind specificities: NE trade winds December and January, with 3-5 Bft. No wind in February. SE winds apparently May to September with 3-6 Bft. Wind blows from 11am through to 1-2am. Can be light with 3 Bft at times but will build to 4 or 5 Bft on good days.

Access description: by Car, Bus - Either fly direct to Mombasa or via Nairobi. About 30km from Mombasa to the South. Just between Tiwi and Ukunda.
