Take-off takes place on a pasture with a very wide and gentle slope. The view is spectacular! As soon as one discovers and wins a "miserable" 10 meters in height, looking back we see the lagoon of the Seven Cities inside the vast crater. The thermals can take us on a glide between the sea and the chain of small hills that culminate in the massif of the Seven Cities.

Sete Cidades (na parte noroeste da cratera da Lagoa das Sete Cidades, face à freguesia dos Mosteiros).

Itinerário/Acesso:
Dirigindo-se para a extremidade oeste da ilha (direcção Mosteiros - 30Km de Ponta Delgada), chegados à freguesia da Várzea, subir para as Sete Cidades. Estacionar no parque do miradouro, onde se avista a freguesia dos Mosteiros e seus ilhéus. A descolagem fica na pastagem a cerca de 100 metros à direita do miradouro.

Descrição:
A descolagem efectua-se numa pastagem (What's new?) com uma inclinação suave e muito ampla. A vista é espectacular! Logo que se descole e se ganhe uns "míseros" 10 metros de altura, olhando para trás avistamos a lagoa das Sete Cidades no interior da vasta cratera. As térmicas podem levar-nos num planeio entre o mar e a cadeia de pequenos montes que culminam no maciço das Sete Cidades.
