The launch area has been completely renovated, with the hang gliding ramp removed as of October 23, 2010. The new launch is ideal for both hang gliding and paragliding, with a progressively steeper incline, making it suitable for all skill levels, including training courses. During winter, there is a lavvu (traditional tent) at the launch site equipped with a Jøtul wood stove. Pilots from any club can use it to warm up, cook food, or even spend the night. If you plan to stay overnight, it's recommended to bring a 60-liter sack of firewood. Bangsberg is a very popular spot for ridge soaring and also offers opportunities for distance flights up the valley. Access to the road is 30 NOK, plus a key from the club.
