    The Reißeck area in Carinthia, Austria, offers a variety of launch options for paragliding, with altitudes ranging from 1,500 meters to 2,200 meters. The primary launch site is located at the summit station of the third section of the Reißeck funicular railway, at approximately 2,200 meters (Schoberboden). This site is particularly suitable for morning flights and autumn glides, providing beautiful scenic flights. The landing zone is near the sports field in Kolbnitz (Saupper-Felder). However, be cautious of the strong valley winds in the Mölltal during summer, which can make landing challenging. For cross-country enthusiasts, Reißeck serves as an excellent starting point, with the potential for significant distance flights. The site record stands at 73.5 km. There are additional launch opportunities after the first section of the Reißeck funicular railway at around 1,500 meters (Schütter). The launch direction is generally southeast towards Mühldorfer Bach. Due to the eastern orientation and weaker valley winds in the morning, an early start is recommended. Be aware of potential turbulence in strong winds and the absence of a landing site directly in the valley town due to numerous power lines.
