Located at an altitude of 1140 meters with a height difference of 332 meters, this paragliding site offers easy to medium difficulty. It's a popular spot, especially for afternoon soaring, and cross-country flights are possible. The launch site is a grassy area next to a small barn, equipped with a windsock. To get there, drive from Hollersbach to the 'Gasthaus Berghof' where you can park your car. Do not park along the road near the launch site. Landing site maps are available at the Gasthaus Berghof. The site is situated in the Salzburg region of Austria. The best flying conditions are typically from June to August, with excellent thermals. The area between the Krimmler Waterfalls and the Maiskogel (Kaprun) is ideal for cross-country flights. The north wind flowing over Pass Thurn provides great lift. The launch site is located below a hay barn in the last curve before reaching the Berghof. Be cautious, as the launch can be tricky if the wind is not coming cleanly from the front. Side winds can create unpleasant rotor turbulence due to the trees next to the launch site. For the best flying experience, aim for late afternoon flights between 16:00 and 20:00. In the evening, reverse thermals can develop in the valley, making it turbulent, especially near the lake in the valley. It's recommended to land above the launch site at the Berghof to avoid the variable air currents in the valley. If conditions are uncertain, consider landing at the designated site in Bramberg.
