The Serra do Larouco is situated in the Trás-os-Montes region, specifically in the famous Terras do Barroso, on the border between Orense and Portugal. To get there, you have two routes: 1. Porto, Vila Real, Montalegre. 2. Porto, Braga, Barragem da Caniçada, Venda Nova, Alto Rabagão, Montalegre. Upon arriving in Montalegre, head to Loja 4 or Confeitaria Campos. These are popular meeting spots for paragliders and offer excellent service. Before flying, you can reserve some meat at the local butcher shop, as the free-range cattle in the area are of exceptional quality. In the evening, join others at the Piano Bar do Castelo for a lively night with João and Rui. This site is excellent for thermal flying and even hosted a Paragliding World Cup event in 2000. One of its greatest advantages is the ability to fly in all wind directions, with nearby alternatives available in case of strong winds.
