Hauptstart Krippenstein, located in Obertraun, Austria, is a popular paragliding site known for its impressive altitude difference of over 1500 meters and stunning panoramic views. This site is frequently used not only for safety training but also for enjoyable soaring, thermal flying, and cross-country (XC) flights, such as valley rounds. The Krippenstein flying area is exclusively leased by the Sky Club Austria for the operation of their flight school and for club members. The region offers year-round flying opportunities, provided the lifts are operational. On thermal days, strong valley winds can develop in the afternoon. It is crucial to monitor wind and weather conditions carefully before launching. There are no start or landing fees.
