Kommetjie, South Africa This site offers an interesting flying experience, though it is somewhat limited unless you can make the jump to Misty Cliffs. The ridge is isolated along the Atlantic Coast, ensuring it remains uncrowded. Cautions: Be aware of telephone lines near the landing area, which is beside the tar road below. Directions: Take the M5 towards Muizenberg, then turn right and head up Ou Kaapse Weg. At the big four-way intersection in Fish Hoek, turn right following the signs for 'Kommetjie'. Before reaching Kommetjie, take the left turn towards 'Scarborough / Misty Cliffs / Cape Point'. Take the next major right turn, and park before you crest the small pass. Caretaker: Hang Gliding contact - Eric Fulton (083 231 4391) Permission: None needed, as the land apparently falls outside of the Cape Peninsula National Park (CPNP).
