Kobala, near Tolmin, is one of Slovenia's most popular paragliding sites, frequented by both local and international pilots. The take-off area is grassy and wide, accommodating multiple paragliders preparing for flight simultaneously. The site is known for its excellent infrastructure, including shuttles from the landing zone, although parking is limited. Top-landing is possible but technical. The best time to fly is from May to June and late summer to early autumn. Morning flights are best launched in an eastern direction with an eastern wind, while afternoon and evening soaring, as well as cross-country (XC) flights, are best launched westward. The launch area is a steep meadow, which can become crowded, so it's advisable to ask locals about house thermals and areas to avoid flying low. The site record for distance is 91.0 km.
