The Kautenbach paragliding site in Luxembourg is frequently used and offers good soaring conditions with limited cross-country potential. It is considered one of the better spots in Luxembourg. The site is managed by the Cumulux Paragliding Club A.s.b.l. Pilots must adhere to several requirements, including presenting a valid FAI pilot license (minimum IPPI 4), having valid aerial liability insurance, using a certified glider, carrying a reserve parachute, using a harness with protection, wearing a suitable helmet, and contacting the club for site-specific information before their first flight. Pilots must also maintain the site's cleanliness and follow access restrictions to protect the natural area. Flight directives include mandatory inspection of the landing zone before each flight, ensuring the wind direction is northwest before takeoff, and avoiding low-altitude flights over the camping area. The maximum flight altitude is 1067 meters (3500 feet MSL). Priority rules must be respected, and only five pilots can share the airspace simultaneously in soaring conditions. The takeoff is a cliff type with a rotor directly behind the ridge. Pilots should inflate their gliders further back towards the southeast and then move towards the ridge for takeoff. Strong winds pose a risk of being lifted off the ground abruptly. Landing is prohibited at the takeoff point but is possible further back towards the southeast if altitude permits. The designated landing area is a large meadow in the valley next to the camping site. Pilots must maintain a safe height and horizontal distance from the camping area and be cautious of turbulence when approaching the landing zone, especially in strong winds. Parking is available along the road near the takeoff area without obstructing traffic and at the entrance of the camping site without hindering circulation. Driving within the camping area is prohibited. Additional guidelines include a ban on motorized gliders and paragliding schools using the site for training. Pilots fly at their own risk, and the Cumulux Paragliding Club assumes no responsibility for accidents or damages. The site communication frequency is PMR 5 (446.05625 MHz). The path to the landing and takeoff areas passes through the village towards Consthum, with a trail on the right leading up to the ridge.
