Located in Cumbria, UK, this paragliding site is situated approximately 218 meters above sea level. It is a regularly used spot, ideal for walk & fly and soaring activities. The site offers various takeoff options depending on the wind direction, making it versatile for different flying conditions. The site is particularly useful when strong winds make higher sites unsuitable. It features both northwest and southwest faces, with the northwest face being shorter but often thermic. The site record stands at 16.5 km. The site is popular among pilots of all skill levels, offering easy top landing areas and a relatively large bottom landing area. The west face is extensive, while the NNW face, though shorter, can be thermic. The Cumbria Soaring Club (CSC) operates a 'Windsock' system here, with the windsock located at Farleton House Farm. There have been recent concerns about pilots flying speed wings, which have caused disturbances to livestock and could potentially jeopardize the agreement with the farmer of the bottom landing field. Pilots are reminded to pay a courtesy visit to the farmer, especially if they are unlikely to land in the agreed field. Maintaining good relations with local farmers is crucial for continued access to the site.
