La Teste-de-Buch, France Les dunes de La Teste-de-Buch, notamment le site des Gaillouneys et le Petit Nice, offrent des conditions idéales pour le vol libre. Ces dunes permettent de pratiquer le soaring grâce à un vent laminaire et un sol sablonneux, parfait pour les décollages et atterrissages en douceur. Le site est particulièrement fréquenté l'après-midi, lorsque la brise marine est la plus favorable. Le paysage est à couper le souffle, avec l'océan, le banc d'Arguin, les dunes et la forêt landaise en toile de fond. Une pause baignade sur la plage est souvent bienvenue pour se rafraîchir après un vol. Il est crucial de respecter ce site sensible en évitant de piétiner certaines zones et en ramassant tous les déchets. Le site attire des pilotes de tous niveaux, venus pour s'amuser et se perfectionner. Cependant, une analyse constante des conditions et une technique de décollage bien maîtrisée sont nécessaires pour voler en toute sécurité. Les règles de vol sont strictes : RCA obligatoire, vol à vue, respect des priorités et port du casque. Il est également essentiel de vérifier les conditions météorologiques avant de voler pour éviter les rafales ou un vent trop fort. Le site de vol est situé à 500 mètres au sud de la grande dune, accessible à pied depuis la plage du Petit Nice.
