Cima di Medeglia is located at the opposite end of Monte Tamaro, overlooking the Vedeggio Valley. This small mountain serves as a training ground, allowing pilots to practice both dynamic and thermal flying. During the summer, it is particularly popular among local pilots for evening flights. High Takeoff - 1240 m Coordinates: 32T 0495934/5108384 Canedo Takeoff - 845 m Coordinates: 32T 0495708/5107023 Landing Bironico - 447 m Coordinates: 32T 0494669/5106575 You can fly over Cima di Medeglia and its slopes by taking off from various locations: from Monte Tamaro, crossing the valley and hooking southward, or from two takeoff points on the mountain itself. The two takeoff points: 1. Summit Takeoff From Bironico: For those unfamiliar with the area, take the road to Isone (see sketch), turn left towards Canedo at Medeglia, and before entering the village of Canedo, turn right and follow the road until the end of the asphalt. Leave your car at the end of the paved road. The path (marked in green on the sketch) follows a private asphalt road (south direction) leading to the mountains until the first big curve. At the curve, there is a forest path on the right that leads to Takeoff 1. 2. Lower Takeoff, Canedo From the village of Canedo, a small path (marked in blue on the map) leads to the lower takeoff. The dirt path starts to the right of the village square, descending a staircase. In about 20-30 minutes of walking, you will reach the takeoff. If weather conditions permit, you can reach the summit of Cima di Medeglia in flight. Caution: Top landings are possible at the summit of Cima di Medeglia, but be very careful of large rocks and strong winds, especially in the afternoon. Important! Flying over Cima di Medeglia and its slopes is prohibited during the hunting season (September). Avoid the area marked in red on the map (click on the photo to enlarge), which means the lower takeoff at Motto del Termine is not accessible during the hunting season.
