Fronalpstock, located in Central Switzerland, offers a majestic paragliding experience with stunning views and impressive vertical drops. The launch site is a steep meadow at an elevation of 1780 meters, accessible via cable car from Morschach or funicular from Schlattli to Stoos, followed by another cable car to Fronalpstock. From the summit, it's a short 12-minute walk to the launch site. The launch area faces northeast and is of medium difficulty. It is particularly good for soaring in Bise conditions but is thermally inactive. Never fly here during Föhn conditions as it can be extremely dangerous. Fronalpstock provides technically straightforward launch sites for almost every wind direction, but they quickly drop off into vertical rock faces. Reliable launch techniques are essential for a safe and enjoyable flight. The site is also used for training purposes. Flights along the rock walls towards Urmiberg near Brunnen, Morschach, or for experienced pilots, towards Rütli and southwards, offer breathtaking views. Despite the imposing rock faces, Fronalpstock is not known for reliable thermals, although soaring in Bise conditions is excellent. Be cautious of rapidly changing weather and wind conditions. Always observe the sailboats on the lake for wind changes. There is a 16kV power line near the launch and landing areas, which is difficult to see in the evening. Additionally, when flying back towards Morschach from Lake Lucerne, avoid flying too close to the forest as there is a barely visible power line running from the village towards Fronalpstock.
