Capo di Fiume, located in Italy, is a paragliding site known for its medium to difficult flying conditions. Directions to Capo di Fiume: - Leave SS 18 between Salerno and Acropoli at Km 19.8 and take SS 166 towards Roccadaspiede. - Continue on SS 166 after a long left curve (the landing zone is to the right). - Turn right at the hairpin curve towards Capaccio. - Head straight towards Madonna del Granato. The launch sites are located just before and below the church. The upper launch site is easier and can be reached with a 20-minute walk. For stronger winds, Casa del Conte/Ogliastro is a recommended alternative, offering soaring directly above the beach. The region offers excellent flying conditions year-round, with various launch options. However, the launch sites are generally challenging, with limited space and the necessity for a good reverse launch technique. Wind conditions can change rapidly, especially in spring. Flights are typically conducted in the morning or after 5 PM when the wind subsides. The upper launch site is suitable for forward launches, while other sites require reverse launches. A new launch site is available next to the church on the new club grounds, where local pilots can provide guidance due to potential turbulence.
