Die Klippe ist das Hauptziel aller Helikopterrundflüge die relativ knapp über die Baumwipfel oder entlang der Steilwand durchgeführt werden.
Schwierigkeit
die Klippenthermik ist bei Sonneneinstrahlung gewaltig, der Einstieg oft sehr unruhig, die Steigwerte enorm, das Panorama gigantisch, nicht unbedingt anfängertauglich!

Die Windrichtung am Startplatz ist selten mit der Windrichtung am Landeplatz identisch.
Walk and Fly
Ausgangspunkt:Seilbahnstation Rancho in Camara de LobosWegbeschreibung:ca. 100 m oberhalb der Seilbahnstation geht ein zementierter Fußweg links hoch zum Aussichtspunkt Cabo GiraoSonstiges:sollte die Seilbahn wegen Feiertag geschlossen sein (kann ja mal vorkommen;-) ), einfach den Strand Richtung Osten/Funcha, leicht in rund 20 Minuten von nicht gerade unsportlichen Piloten zu meistern, man kommt ca. 100 m neben der Seilbahnbergstation an
Soaringbedingungen:Vom Startplatz nach rechts Richtung Westen, zum Faja das Padres und wenn der Wind passt bis nach Ribeira Brava, Madalena do Mar, Calheta, Prazeres, Paul do Mar, Ponta do Pargo
oder nach links Richtung Osten Camara do Lobos, Funchal...

Seilbahn:Der Eingang zur Talstation ist generell offen, im Gebäude gibt es ein Telefon um den Zugang zur Gondel zu signalisieren, der Zugang zur Gondel wird per Videokamera überwacht, die Türen werden fernbedient,
Die Bezahlung erfolgt bei Bergankunft in bar.
Montags fährt die Seilbahn nicht, die Mittagspause geht von 12.30 bis 14.30, aber es gibt einen alten Klippenaufstieg mit über 1000 Stufen bis zur Seilbahnstation auf halber Höhe, Viel SpaßFliegertreff:Bei der Bergstation ist eine Bar mit Restaurant, der ideale Treffpunkt.Unterkunft:siehe: www.madeira-paragliding.comAnfahrt:Von der Via Rapida von Funchal oder Ribeira Brava kommend einfach der Beschilderung "Cabo Girao" folgen.Sonstiges:Meteo-Infos:
