Located in the County of Cumbria, UK, this paragliding site offers a range of takeoff options with heights between 400-535 meters. It's regularly used for thermal soaring, and cross-country flights are possible. The main launch is at the very top of the hill, but you can also use the field to the left of the walk-up path, near a small group of trees close to the fell wall. A new fence was erected in 2015 after the second gate, crossing a boggy area before ascending the hill. Please use the new gate on the left immediately after the second gate, as there is no way through further on. The farmer is supportive of paragliding activities but requests that walls and fences are not climbed over. The site features a grass and heather-covered ridge extending for 6km. The ascent is steep and sustained, but the effort is worth it. Conditions can vary from silky smooth to rough. Wind direction is ESE to SE. The site is located between the Lune and Dentdale. The grid reference is SD675870, with a height of 500 meters above mean sea level and a top-to-bottom height of 191 meters.
