Located in the Asagiri Kogen highland in Shizuoka Prefecture, this site offers a unique paragliding experience with easy access by car—just 30 minutes from the Fuji Ramp of the Tomei Expressway or 40 minutes from the Kawaguchiko Ramp of the Chuo Expressway. Sky Asagiri is the local paragliding school, although they do not have bilingual staff. The school operates year-round and offers a check-in desk that opens at 09:00. The Shiraito Takeoff point faces southeast with a 25° slope and can accommodate up to six paragliders at a time. The flight conditions are varied, with thermal soaring accounting for 50%, ridge soaring for 30%, and sleddies for 20%. The altitude difference between takeoff and landing is 240 meters, with a distance of 300 meters. The landing area has a capacity of 50m x 200m and features a moderate slope. The landing altitude is 600 meters above sea level, and the GPS coordinates are N35°19′32.30″ E138°33′33.60″. A shuttle service is available to transport you from the landing area back to the takeoff point in about 7 minutes. Please note that cross-country flights are not allowed at this site.
