Follow the B259 towards Cochem. Continue on the B49 towards Trier along the Mosel. At the exit of Ediger-Eller, after the railway bridge, there is a meadow which serves as the landing area. From Landing Area to Launch Site by Car: From the landing area, follow the B49 towards Trier. At the exit of Bremm, follow the L106 towards Römercastell. After the switchbacks, turn right onto the gravel road towards Römercastell and follow it to the launch site. Drive slowly on the gravel road to avoid dust. Park only in designated parking areas. There is a hiking parking lot halfway to the launch site. Do not park along forest paths. On Foot: Cross the B49 from the landing area and walk along the field path parallel to the railway bridge. Just before the bridge, turn onto the hiking trail. Follow the Moselsteig signs, which lead to the launch site. Do not take the via ferrata. Be considerate of visitors. North of the power line begins the airspace of Büchel, which can only be flown through with radio contact, even if inactive. If Büchel is active, inform the tower before flying (Phone: 02678 / 94012315) to notify jet pilots and avoid close encounters. The launch site is a steep meadow directly behind the terrace of the wine stand at the Calmont summit cross. A windsock is present. The launch area is very steep and narrow, requiring safe reverse launching skills. Fly towards the landing area early, as it is relatively far away. Top Landing: West of the launch site along the access road are meadows. Be cautious as wind conditions are difficult to assess. If in doubt, land at the bottom. Do not fly over the railway bridge towards Eller during landing approach. 2. Maintain a vertical distance of at least 50 m and a horizontal distance of 50 m from the B49. Landings should be as close as possible to the pedestrian/cyclist path near the Mosel. 3. Land only if there is sufficient distance from pedestrians and cyclists, or if the landing field is secured against unauthorized entry or driving. 4. Due to difficult landing conditions, only pilots with unrestricted licenses and site-specific training are allowed to fly. Hang gliding and training flights are not permitted.
