Paragliding Kungälv, Tjuvkil

Tjuvkil is a regularly used paragliding site, ideal for local soaring when the wind is coming from the north. The site is classified as a hang gliding spot and requires a Pilot 1 license to fly. The takeoff point is situated 40 meters above sea level, directly above a quarry, offering a smooth start. The elevation difference is also 40 meters, with a maximum flight altitude of 455 meters. Landing is possible along the entire beach, providing ample space for a safe descent. The ridge extends for several hundred meters, making it a pleasant spot for hang gliding. For wind conditions, Tjuvkils wind measurement station can be contacted at 0303 235506. The site performs best with a pure north wind, is manageable with a northwest wind, but not ideal with a northeast wind.
