Heatherhill Rageleje

This site in Sealand, Denmark, is a frequently used and uncomplicated spot for soaring, kiting, and playing around on a long, grassy dune. It's a great place for beginners, although no school training is allowed here. The site record is 6.8 km, making it one of the best places in the north of Sealand for paragliding. The takeoff area is located on a grassy patch behind the beach sand. You can pull up your glider and ground handle it about 25 meters west on the top of the hill before taking off from the highest point. The landing area is a large grassy field right in front of the takeoff spot. To get there, you can park your car at a nearby campsite, which is about 500 meters from the takeoff area. Weather conditions to be aware of include a wind direction from NW to NNW, with a minimum wind speed of approximately 5 m/s. Börsmose

Takeoff from the beach is easy with parking available nearby. You can drive on the beach up to 1.2 km north from the takeoff point. The area offers flat, nice dune soaring, and some cross-country (XC) flying is possible, especially northbound, although it can be challenging due to many gaps and flat sections. Southbound flying is more enjoyable with opportunities for dune playing and kiting over a length of approximately 8 km, with some gaps that are mostly crossable while flying. It's crucial to check the NOTAMs before flying. Local flight regulations at Vejers airfield in Denmark apply to this spot as well. There have been issues with foreign pilots recently, leading to temporary suspensions due to military exercises. To avoid further violations and potential closure of the Vejers site to paragliders, always check the current NOTAMs here: [Current NOTAMs](https://dhpu.dk/for-visiting-pilots/general/). xxx Krig Vig 1 Kobberö

Flying from Krik Vig is now prohibited. The land is privately owned, and the owners will report any trespassers to the police. This restriction is partly due to the misbehavior of some pilots. Krik Vig was a popular and easy soaring spot, ideal for beginners with plenty of space to launch from various points on the slope. It was one of the few ridges suitable for southwest winds in the region. Region: Denmark Site record: 21.8 km For more information, you can check out these videos: - [Video 1](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CeJVZuc4crA) - [Video 2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBQ7UPKLgyE) - [Video 3](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=memwAvpLj6g) - [Video 4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrlxQ_aHjx8) To get there, follow this route: Ydby-Vestervig-Gettrup-Kobberø-Kobberøgårdvej 8, 7760 Hurup Thy. Park at the windmill and walk 100 meters on private grounds. Remember to close the gate behind you to keep the cows in. The slopes extend approximately 5.5 km with a maximum height of 44 meters. The starting point faces southwest, and further north, it shifts more to the west. Top landing is possible, but the starting area is narrow and confined by hedgerows and fences. Be cautious of grazing cows, which can leave droppings at the start. It's advisable to bring water, a brush, and soap for cleaning. Despite these minor inconveniences, it was a fantastic place to fly with varied terrain and a wide lift band when the wind was right. For more information on local clubs, visit: - [PG Nord](http://www.pgnord.dk/) - [Parafun](http://www.parafun.dk/) Always ask the farmer for permission before flying from the site.
