Děvín
Landing and Car Parking - Location Děvín 14.2.2023
Dear members of the PG Pálava Association,
With the beginning of the new paragliding season, we would like to remind you of the rules regarding landing and also car parking under Děvín.
Car parking is allowed only in the extended strip under the "windsock", i.e., by the path to the stairs to Děvín, further on the other side in the created extended strip after excavation work in close proximity to the road (it is not officially allowed, it is on private property, but it is tolerated for the time being) and also in the gorge - all marked on the maps below. Another possible place is, of course, in the public parking lot at the kiosk in Pavlov. Parking in other places, roads, and properties is prohibited for all paragliders! We do not accept the defense of the type that there were already some cars standing there as a valid argument, tourists can park wherever they want, we will park only in designated places. All lands around the landing areas are private and parking on them causes us big problems, so please comply with these rules.
As for landing under Děvín, the official landing area is a narrow strip of field behind the road. Since this property is quite narrow and also sloping away from the road, it is not entirely ideal for landing, so an exception has been negotiated and landing on a larger property in front of the road, between the path to the stairs and the vineyard (both landing areas are marked on the maps below), is tolerated. Therefore, we ask all members to land only and exclusively on these two properties, or on the surrounding field paths. On the paths, please also pack all wings. Unfortunately, a common reality, even though the weather conditions do not require it, is frequent landing in the large field behind the path to Děvín (marked in red). We ask all pilots not to land on this private property unless it is really necessary due to, for example, a threat to the health of the pilot. In these cases, however, we rather recommend anticipating these crisis situations and considering the weather conditions and your piloting experience before starting.
Therefore, please land and park cars according to these rules above. Non-compliance with these conditions causes us unnecessary problems with landowners and also with municipalities and at the same time causes us bad negotiating positions regarding land leases and the actual flying in Pálava. Strict compliance with these rules will be and will be strictly monitored.
